Ashwell pharmacy is undergoing transformation to become A Healthy LivingPharmacy (HLP). as we move towards HLP accreditation we have currently rolled out the following services within our practice; smoking cessation-NHS funded program which provides the one to one help and advice andnicotine replace therapyproducts to help quitting. cholesterol testing- with just a small finger prick and a drop of blood we can measure both you HDL and LDL cholesterol. all information and results can be passed on to your GP avoiding making appointments for blood tests. blood pressure testing- using our professionally calibrated machines we can measure your blood pressure and offer any required lifestyle advice. we measure both systolic and diastolic bp. we can now also now have the facilityto measure atriol fibrillation (the indication of the likelihood of stroke). diabetes and blood sugar level testing- this can give you an indicator of your blood glucose levels in your blood. this can be done as either a fasting or non fasting test with just a droplet of blood obtained by a finger prick. each service and appointment is carried out in the comfort of the pharmacy consultation room. all the information and results (with patient consent) can be forwarded to your doctor or practitioner if required to maintain current patient medical records. once results are obtained our professional and qualified staff can advise you on the best way to prevent diabetes, hyper and hypotension, high cholesterol and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. we are constantly striving to improve and increase this range of services we provide. why not pop in and ask one of our staff about our services and new product ranges. at present some of the services are paid services but all can normally be arranged at a convenient time and day to suit you.
